Social impact

Voca: a new standard for truly independent and sustainable work

Impact that matters!

In a society where forms of work are becoming more diverse and social responsibility increasingly important, Voca offers a revolutionary alternative — not just a platform, but a cooperative ecosystem where independent professionals can truly be independent while standing stronger together.

Voca is built on three pillars: legal integrity, economic sustainability, and social progress.

Founded from within the ZWiZ association, the platform combines technological innovation with a pioneering social model in which freelancers are co-owners of the very platform they work with.

The Voca platform is designed to strengthen the employability of its members.

Co-ownership as the foundation

Unlike traditional platforms or intermediaries, Voca is partly owned by the independent professionals who use it. As a member of the ZWiZ association, every freelancer working with Voca contributes to building the platform’s value.

Quite literally: the more you work through Voca, the larger your share in the collective ownership becomes. This growth is cumulative — and the value you build is yours to keep for as long as you remain a member of the association.

This ownership is not symbolic. The association is entitled to 50% of Voca’s profit and value creation.

Genuine, compliant self-employment — exactly as the law intends

Voca was founded on a clear vision of genuine independence.

The relationship between the client and the freelancer remains entirely intact. The platform facilitates — but never interferes:

  • No interference with rates
  • No enforceable scheduling
  • No algorithmic control

Freelancers issue their own invoices, manage their own profiles, and determine their own availability.

Voca provides the legal infrastructure, compliance framework, and technical support, but deliberately stays outside the actual working relationship.

This means: no fictitious employment contracts, no sham arrangements, and no grey areas.

Lower costs, higher value for both freelancers and clients

A common misconception is that freelancers are more expensive than employees. Voca shows that this difference is, in reality, minimal — or even non-existent — especially when you consider the full picture.

When comparing the gross hourly rate of a freelancer working through Voca with that of an employee, and correcting for:

  • employer costs (such as social security contributions),
  • paid leave and sick days,
  • training expenses, and
  • inactivity due to scheduling, the cost difference becomes negligible.

At the same time, the Voca model provides significantly more flexibility, engagement, and legal clarity.

The result is a system in which both clients and freelancers know exactly where they stand — without sham arrangements or hidden risks.

A response to the needs of a new generation of professionals

The younger generation of independent professionals is looking for more than just freedom. They seek influence, transparency, growth, and social impact — and the Voca model aligns perfectly with those values.

  • Ownership instead of dependency

  • Transparency about legal status, platform operation, and value distribution

  • Access to collective resources, such as training, support, and networking opportunities

  • A platform that ensures compliance without undermining independence

Voca appeals to a growing group of professionals who don’t fit into traditional employment but also refuse to work under the constraints of conventional intermediaries or anonymous platforms.

Impact on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's)

Voca demonstrably contributes to several of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A few examples:

  • SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth – Voca strengthens the economic position of independent professionals and ensures fair pay and influence.

  • SDG 4: Quality Education – Training and development budgets are an integral part of the model.

  • SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities – Part-time and less advantaged freelancers also gain access to shared value.

  • SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions – Through legal clarity and verifiable structures, Voca promotes legal certainty.

  • SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals – Voca collaborates with clients, professional groups, and regulators in a shared mission.

A new standard in the platform economy

Voca is not an intermediary, not a staffing agency, and not a broker.

Voca is a cooperative technology platform that unites the best of independence, compliance, social impact, and collective strength.

For freelancers, this means empowerment, influence, security, and professional growth.

For clients, it offers control, transparency, and legal peace of mind.

For society, it provides a sustainable and future-proof form of work that aligns with current legislation, today’s realities, and tomorrow’s standards.
